Business Rates

All occupiers of commercial property have the right to appeal against the Rating assessment set on 1st April 2005 and also where circumstances relating to their building has changed. In addition new rules recently announced in the 2007 Budget means that owners of vacant commercial property will also be charged full rates after a qualifying period.

Dreweatt Neate can examine your liability to make sure you are being charged correctly and advise on how and when to appeal to achieve the best results. Business Rates can amount to 30% of the occupation costs of a commercial building and as such must not be under estimated.
